DDoS Attack Analysis – March 2026
During monitoring of network traffic on a private VPN node, abnormal packet rates were observed. Initial metrics suggested a volumetric UDP amplification attack.
Observed Metrics
Peak Traffic: 2.1 Gbps Packets per Second: 1.8M Attack Vector: UDP reflection Duration: 11 minutes
Traffic patterns indicated spoofed source addresses targeting open services. Filtering rules were applied at the edge to mitigate the flood.
Further investigation is underway to determine the upstream infrastructure responsible.
